| A tied expansion joint with a balancing bellow sealed with a
blind flange & elbow are the typical features. The effective displacement on this
assembly is nil by virtue of the constant volume maintained during operation. This
eliminates change in pressure forces & restrains the pressure-thrust. Guiding &
anchoring on piping using this type can be effectively reduced. 'FLEXATHERM' also
manufactures 'IN-LINE' pressure balanced joints, similar to above, but does not require
change in direction in piping system. A constant volume arrangement created by two
balancing bellows whose difference in cross sectional area is twice that of the in-line
bellows thus by eliminating pressure-thrust without change in direction. |
